In addition to heating underfloor heating can also be used for cooling in many new-build homes. Our oak floors are suitable for systems that both heat and cool, provided the temperature of the water in the system does not fall below 18°C to prevent condensation.
Our wooden floors can be combined with various underfloor heating systems, including:
Traditional underfloor heating: Pipes lie on the concrete floor and are covered with a finishing floor.
Dry-build systems: The system is installed on top of the existing floor (wood, concrete, sand cement).
Milling in water pipes: Trenches are milled into the existing screed (cement, anhydrite or Fermacell) where the water pipes are placed.

Not all wood species are suitable for underfloor heating. Oak, our most commonly used wood species, is ideally suited because of its stability and low thermal resistance.
Historically, solid floors with higher thermal resistance were used, but today we prefer two-ply oak floors because they perform better with underfloor heating.
